Penny Black Father’s Day Card

This card is now on its way to my Dad in Germany where they celebrate Father’s Day next Thursday.
I colored the Penny Black dog from the transparent stamp set “Bubbly” with Prismacolor Pencils and Mona Lisa Odorless Paint Thinner. To add dimension, I fussy cut him and popped him up on crafting foam. I also layered the dog’s feet. The Inky Antics paws were stamped on Canson watercolor paper using Stampin’ Up “chocolate chip” ink. The title is by Stampin’ Up as well and is one of the greetings from the “Teeny Tiny Wishes” set. I hand cut the banner for the title, added some faux stitching and centered it onto a tag that I created with the Stampin’ Up “Decorative Label” punch.

Father’s Day Cards 2011 Part 2 of 2

I made this Father’s Day card for my Dad. Since he is all the way in Germany, I decided to go with the Penny Black “hedgehopper” stamp and have the hedgehog deliver our Father’s Day wishes by plane. As you can tell, I modified the stamp by cutting off the hearts and replacing them with a hand-cut banner for the title. Both the title and cloud pattern paper are by A Muse. I used mounting foam for the plane as well as the title to create the illusion of them actually flying across the card. To add some dimension to the plane itself, I paper pieced/layered the propeller and one of the wings. I love the 3D effect the paper piecing technique adds to the card.
I would love to hear what you think about my card. Thanks for looking!

This Father’s Day card is for my Father-in-law. Using the “tall ball” feature, I cut the letters for the banner with my Cricut and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The title “Happy Father’s Day” is a stamp by A Muse.
I will post my Dad’s Father’s Day card soon too so be sure to come back for some more Father’s Day card ideas. I don’t want to reveal too much but there’ll be lots of paper piecing.
Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

I made a couple of these for my Dad and father-in-law. The dog is from the Penny Black clear stamp set “Bubbly”, the title is computer generated and both the scalloped frame and oval were cut with the Cricut. Have a great day and happy crafting!
